Description

This metadata template links Wikipedia articles to various library catalogue systems (see authority control). At the moment, it is used almost exclusively in biographical articles.

The supported authority files include:

1. Personennamendatei (PND)
2. Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN)
3. Virtual International Authority File (VIAF)
4. SELIBR by the National Library of Sweden
5. Gemeinsame Körperschaftsdatei (GKD)
6. Schlagwortnormdatei (SWD)

Usage

The following data sources are accepted:

LCCN	Persons*	Library of Congress Control Number	* usage on Wikimedia projects currently only for persons; note: omit leading zeros after the 2nd slash
VIAF	Persons	Virtual International Authority File	International authority data from the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC)
SELIBR	Persons	SELIBR	Authority data from the National Library of Sweden
GKD	Corporations	Gemeinsame Körperschaftsdatei	Authority data on corporations from the German National Library
SWD	Subjects	Schlagwortnormdatei	Authority data on subjects from the German National Library
