উৰ্বশী বৈদ ( ইংৰাজী : Urvashi Vaid; ৮ অক্টোবৰ, ১৯৫৮ – ১৪ মে', ২০২২)[1] এগৰাকী ভাৰতীয়-আমেৰিকান উকীল আৰু লেখিকা। তেওঁ লিংগ আৰু যৌনতা আইন বিশেষজ্ঞ হিচাপে সামাজিক ন্যায়ৰ নিৰ্দিষ্ট লক্ষ্যত উপনীত হোৱাৰ ক্ষেত্ৰত পৰামৰ্শদাতা আছিল। তেওঁ ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় টাস্ক ফ’ৰ্চত একাধিক ভূমিকা পালন কৰি ১৯৮৯ চনৰ পৰা ১৯৯২ চনলৈকে কাৰ্যবাহী সঞ্চালক হিচাপে কাৰ্যনিৰ্বাহ কৰি আছিল।

[সম্পাদনা কৰক]উৰ্বশী বৈদৰ জন্ম হৈছিল ১৯৫৮ চনৰ ৮ অক্টোবৰত ভাৰতৰ নতুন দিল্লীত। তেওঁৰ পিতৃ লেখক কৃষ্ণ বলদেৱ বৈদ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ত শিক্ষক আছিল। উৰ্বশীৰ আঠ বছৰ বয়সত তেওঁৰ পিতৃয়ে পৰিয়ালসহ নিউয়ৰ্কৰ পটছডামলৈ গুচি যায়।[2] ১১ বছৰ বয়সত উৰ্বশীয়ে ভিয়েটনাম যুদ্ধ বিৰোধী আন্দোলনত অংশগ্ৰহণ কৰে।[3] ভাছাৰ কলেজত তেওঁ বিভিন্ন ৰাজনৈতিক আৰু সামাজিক কামত সক্ৰিয় আছিল। তেওঁ কেম্পাছত নাৰীবাদী সংঘৰ সহ-প্ৰতিষ্ঠাপক আছিল (শেহতীয়া ভাছাৰে কোডলৈ পৰিৱৰ্তনৰ প্ৰেক্ষাপটত) আৰু বৰ্ণবাদৰ বিৰুদ্ধে সক্ৰিয়তাত অংশগ্ৰহণ কৰিছিল। ১৯৮৩ চনত তেওঁ বষ্টনৰ নৰ্থইষ্টাৰ্ণ ইউনিভাৰ্চিটি স্কুল অৱ লৰ পৰা জুৰিছ ডক্টৰ ডিগ্ৰী লাভ কৰি বষ্টন পলিটিকেল এলায়েন্স প্ৰতিষ্ঠা কৰে। এইটো এটা নিৰ্দলীয় ৰাজনৈতিক সংগঠন যিয়ে ৰাজনৈতিক প্ৰাৰ্থী বিলাকৰ সাক্ষাৎকাৰ লয়।[3]

[সম্পাদনা কৰক]১৯৮৩ চনৰ পৰা ১৯৮৬ চনলৈকে ভাইডে আমেৰিকান চিভিল লিবাৰ্টিজ ইউনিয়নৰ (ACLU) নেচনেল প্ৰিজন প্ৰজেক্টৰ ষ্টাফ এটৰ্নী আছিল, য'ত তেওঁ কাৰাগাৰত এইচ আই ভি/এইডছৰ ওপৰত সংস্থাটোৰ কাম আৰম্ভ কৰিছিল।[4]
