চাক-হাও (ইংৰাজী: Chak-Hao (Black rice)) হ'ল এক থলুৱা, সুগন্ধি, আঠাযুক্ত আৰু বৃহৎ দানাৰ ক'লা চাউলৰ প্ৰকাৰ যিটো মূলতঃ ভাৰতৰ মণিপুৰ আৰু নাগালেণ্ড ৰাজ্যত উৎপাদিত হয়।[4] ইম্ফল পূব, ইম্ফল পশ্চিম, বিষ্ণুপুৰ, মণিপুৰৰ থৌবাল আৰু নাগালেণ্ডৰ পেৰেন জিলাত ই এক সাধাৰণ আৰু বহুলভাৱে কৰা খেতি। চাক-হাও বা চাখাও বা চাক হাও আমুবি একেটা নামৰ ভিন্ন ৰূপ। ইয়াক জনপ্ৰিয়ভাৱে মণিপুৰী ক'লা চাউল বা মণিপুৰৰ ক'লা চাউল বুলি কোৱা হয়।[5][6][7][8]

নাম

চাক-হাও, আক্ষৰিক অৰ্থত মণিপুৰী (মেইটেই)ৰ স্থানীয় ৰাজ্যিক ভাষাত "সুস্বাদু চাউল" বুলি অনুবাদ কৰিব পাৰি‍; "চাক"ৰ অৰ্থ "ভাত" আনহাতে "আহাওবা" শব্দৰ অৰ্থ "সুস্বাদু।"[10]

মণিপুৰৰ সুগন্ধিযুক্ত ধানৰ জাতসমূহক কৃষকে শস্যৰ ৰঙৰ ওপৰত ভিত্তি কৰি চাৰি প্ৰকাৰত ভাগ কৰে: চাখাও আমুবি (ক'লা), চাখাও পইৰেইটন (বেঙুনীয়া), চাখাও আংগাংবা (ৰঙা), আৰু চাখাও আংগুবা (বগা)।[11][12]

ক'লা চাউলক সুগন্ধিযুক্ত, গ্লুটেন নথকা আঠাযুক্ত, ৰন্ধা পিছত আঠাযুক্ত আৰু কোমল আৰু ৰন্ধাৰ পিছত বেঙুনীয়া ৰঙৰ বুলি বৰ্ণনা কৰা হৈছে।[13] কৃষি ৰাসায়নিক পদাৰ্থ ব্যৱহাৰ নকৰাকৈ ইয়াৰ খেতি কৰা হয়। চখাও আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্দেশ্য আৰু বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানত খীৰ বনোৱাৰ বাবে‍ ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয়।[14][15] ইয়াত আঁহযুক্ত ব্ৰাণ স্তৰৰ উপস্থিতি আৰু খাৰুৱা আঁহৰ পৰিমাণ বেছি হোৱাৰ বাবে ইয়াক ৰান্ধিবলৈ ৪০-৪৫ মিনিট সময় লাগে।

ইয়াক ভাৰত কেন্দ্ৰীয় চৰকাৰৰ অধীনস্থ ভৌগোলিক সূচক পঞ্জীয়নৰ পৰা ২০ এপ্ৰিল ২০২০ তাৰিখে ভৌগোলিক সূচক (GI) মৰ্যাদা টেগ প্ৰদান কৰা হৈছিল আৰু ই ২০২৭ চনৰ ২৫ ডিচেম্বৰলৈকে বৈধ হৈ থাকিব।[9][16]

ইম্ফলৰ পৰা অহা চাক-হাও (ব্লেক ৰাইচ)ৰ উৎপাদকসকলৰ অনচৰ্টিয়ামে চাক-হাওৰ জি আই পঞ্জীয়নৰ প্ৰস্তাৱ আগবঢ়ায়। ২০১৭ চনৰ ডিচেম্বৰ মাহত এই আৱেদন দাখিল কৰাৰ পিছত ২০২০ চনত চেন্নাইৰ ভৌগোলিক সূচক পঞ্জীয়নে ধানক জি আই টেগ প্ৰদান কৰি অঞ্চলটোত উৎপাদিত এইবিধ ধানৰ বাবে "চাক-হাও" নামটো একচেটিয়া কৰি তুলিছে। এইদৰে ই মণিপুৰ আৰু নাগালেণ্ডৰ পৰা অহা প্ৰথম ধানৰ জাত হিচাপে পৰিগণিত হয়। ইয়াৰ উপৰিও ই মণিপুৰৰ পৰা ৫ম প্ৰকাৰৰ সামগ্ৰী আৰু নাগালেণ্ডৰ পৰা ৪ৰ্থ প্ৰকাৰৰ সামগ্ৰী যিয়ে জি আই টেগ লাভ কৰে।[17]
