Usage

Use this rcat template in any namespace.

• This redirect category (rcat) template populates শ্ৰেণী:Redirects to subpages. Add this rcat to a redirect in the following manner:

Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

• With exceptions noted below, use this rcat to tag any redirect in any namespace that targets the subpage of another page. An example is:
  • সাঁচ:-rWikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests,

which is a subpage of Wikipedia:Requested moves.

When not to use this template

Please note that not every page title with "/" in its title is a subpage. This rcat template does not need to be used on redirects that contain this character if they are:

• To an encyclopedia article (articles do not have subpages).
• To a Wikipedia: Manual of Style guideline (they are all guidelines in their own right; while they are arranged hierarchically as part of the Manual of Style "virtual book", they are stand-alone documents and are not subpages of WP:MOS, albeit subordinate to it as a matter of WP:POLICY authority).
• To a subpage after a move from an older subpage name (there is probably no utility at all in cataloguing "Template:FooBar/doc" with more rcats than "from move" if the page was moved to "Template:BarFoo/doc" following the move of the parent template).

It also should not be used for redirects to "conceptually subordinate" pages that do not have "/" in their names, such as:

• Templates that pertain to a wikiproject but are not subpages under it.
• Narrow-topic articles that were WP:SPLIT from a more general article, per WP:SUMMARY.
• Naming convention guidelines, like WP:Naming conventions (people); although supplments to the WP:Article titles policy, they are not subpages of it in any useful sense.

Good uses for this template

Some examples:

• When a WP:... shortcut goes to a page that is primarily intended for and used as a transclusion (e.g. Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/FAQ, a talk page header that is also sometimes linked to as a separate page)
• When a Template:... redirect exists to a template that is mostly used as, and structured as a sub-template module of a larger meta-template.
• When a Wikipedia:... redirect exists at the former or easily misremembered location of, or a WP:... shortcut goes to, something that is presently a sub-process of something else (e.g. Wikipedia:Arbitration enforcement and WP:AE, which redirect to Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement)

Printworthiness

• In main-article namespace there are very few subpages. Higher-level titles that are redirected to subpages may be considered printworthy or unprintworthy, so there is no default sort for printworthiness. At some point in the future, Jimmy Wales wants to make more সাঁচ:Diff of Wikipedia encyclopedia articles. Some rcats automatically populate either শ্ৰেণী:Printworthy redirects or শ্ৰেণী:Unprintworthy redirects by default. Others, like this rcat, do not, and that means it is up to editors to choose which of those categories, Printworthy or Unprintworthy, is appropriate and should be populated. The rcats that are used separately to populate those categories are:
