Renowned historian of Assam, 'Padmashree' Benudhar Sarmah mentioned in his first biography on Maniram Dewan, in Assamese, (its latest edition was published in 2007 by the Publication Board of Assam, New Guwahati,) mentioned the date of birth of Dewan as 27th April, 1806 (13th Bohag, 1728 Saka), and Dr Ajit Kumar Dutta. Prof. & Head of History Department (Retired), J.B.College, Jorhat, Assam, who acquired Ph.D. degree from Dibrugarh University in 1987presenting his Thesis entitled "Maniram Dewan and His Times", also mentioned the same date of birth, in his 2(two) books entitled -"Maniram Dewan And The Contemporary Assamese Society" published in 1990, and "The Great Assam Tea Planter- Martyr Maniram Dewan", published in in 2007. - - 69.122.159.7 00:35, 3 ফেব্ৰুৱাৰী 2013‎
