উত্তৰ মহাসাগৰ বা সুমেৰু মহাসাগৰ (ইংৰাজী: Arctic Ocean, আৰ্কটিক অচিন) হৈছে উত্তৰ গোলাৰ্ধৰ সুমেৰু অঞ্চলত অৱস্থিত পৃধিৱীৰ ক্ষুদ্ৰতম তথা আটাইতকৈ কম গভীৰ এক মহাসাগৰ। ই পৃথিৱীৰ পাঁচ প্ৰধান মহাসাগৰৰ অন্যতম।[1] ইন্টাৰনেচনেল হাইড্ৰোগ্ৰাফিক অৰ্গেনাইজেচনে ইয়াক এক মহাসাগৰৰ স্বীকৃতি দিছে যদিও কোনো কোনো সমুদ্ৰবিশাৰদে ইয়াক সুমেৰু ভূমধ্য সাগৰ, (Arctic Mediterranean Sea) বা সুমেৰু সাগৰ (Arctic Sea) নামেৰেহে মাতে। তেওঁলোকৰ অনুসৰি ই হৈছে আটলান্টিক মহাসাগৰৰ এটি ভূমধ্যসাগৰ।[2] অন্য মত অনুসৰি, উত্তৰ মহাসাগৰ মহাসাগৰৰ সমষ্টি বিশ্ব মহাসাগৰৰ আটাইতকৈ উত্তৰ প্ৰান্তত অৱস্থিত অংশ ৰূপে গণ্য কৰিব পাৰি।
উত্তৰ মহাসাগৰৰ প্ৰায় সমগ্ৰ অংশ ইউৰেছিয়া আৰু উত্তৰ আমেৰিকা মহাদেশ দ্বাৰা পৰিবেষ্টিত। বছৰৰৰ অধিকাংশ সময় এই মহাসাগৰৰ অংশবিশেষ সামুদ্ৰিক বৰফে ঢাকা খাই থাকে।[3] শীতকালত সম্পূৰ্ণ মহাসাগৰখনেই বৰফেৰে ঢাকা খাই যায়। উত্তৰ মহাসাগৰৰ তাপমাত্ৰা আৰু লবণাক্ততা ঋতু অনুযায়ী ভিন্ন ভিন্ন হয়। সমুদ্ৰৰ বৰফৰ আবৰণীৰ গলন আৰু গোটমৰা বাধাৰ কাৰণেই এনে হয়।[4] পাঁচখন প্ৰধান মহাসাৰগৰ তুলনাত এই মহাসাগৰৰ পানীৰ লবণাক্ততা কম। ইয়াৰ কাৰণ, বাষ্পীভবনৰ নিম্ন হাৰ, বিভিন্ন সৰু-ডাঙৰ নদীৰ পৰা অ-লবণযুক্ত চফা পানীৰ প্ৰবাহ আৰু পাৰ্শ্ববৰ্তী উচ্চ লবণাক্ততাযুক্ত মহাসাৰসমূহৰ সৈতে সীমাবদ্ধ সংযোগ আৰু বহিৰ্গমন স্ৰোত। গ্ৰীষ্মকালত প্ৰায় ৫০% বৰফ গলি যায়।[1]
