বাঙালী জাতি (বঙালী: বাঙ্গালী/বাঙালি [baŋgali, baŋali] ( শুনক)), বঙালী জাতি, বাঙালী লোক বা বঙালী লোক[1][2] এটি ভাৰতীয়-আৰ্য জাতিগত আৰু ভাষাগত গোট যাৰ উৎস আৰু সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্ৰ দক্ষিণ এছিয়াবংগ অঞ্চল। বৰ্তমানে বাঙালী জাতিৰ লোক স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ আৰু ভাৰতপশ্চিমবংগ, ত্ৰিপুৰা তথা অসম, মেঘালয় আৰু মণিপুৰৰ কিছু কিছু অংশত বিয়পি আছে।[3] প্ৰায় বাঙালী লোকে বঙালী ভাষা কয়, যি ভাৰতীয়-আৰ্য গোষ্ঠীৰ এটি ভাষা।

জনসংখ্যা আৰু ভৌগোলিক বিতৰণ[সম্পাদনা কৰক]

জনসংখ্যাৰ ফালৰ পৰা বাঙালী জাতি বিশ্বৰ ভিতৰতে তৃতীয় সৰ্ববৃহৎ, হান চীনা আৰু আৰবৰ পাছত।[4] বিশ্বত প্ৰায় ২৮৫ নিযুত বাঙালী লোক আছে।[5][6][7] বাঙালী জাতি ভাৰতীয়-আৰ্যসকলৰ মাজত আৰু দক্ষিণ এছিয়াত সৰ্ববৃহৎ জাতি। বাঙালী লোক বৃহৎ সংখ্যাত বাংলাদেশৰ (১৬৬৮৪০৩০২ জন[8][9]) লগতে ভাৰতৰ (১০৭২২৮৯১৭ জন[10][11]) পশ্চিম বংগ, ত্ৰিপুৰা, অসমৰ বৰাক উপত্যকা আৰু মণিপুৰ ৰাজ্যত আছে। তদুপৰি, ভাৰতৰ কেন্দ্ৰীয় শাসিত অঞ্চল আন্দামান আৰু নিকোবাৰ দ্বীপপুঞ্জত বাঙালী লোকৰ সংখ্যাগড়িষ্ঠতা আছে। অৰুণাচল প্ৰদেশ, দিল্লী, উৰিষ্যা, ছত্তীসগঢ়, ঝাৰখণ্ড, মিজোৰাম, নাগালেণ্ড আৰু উত্তৰাখণ্ড তথা নেপালপ্ৰান্ত ১তো বাঙালী লোকৰ লেখত ল'বলগীয়া সংখ্যালঘু জনসংখ্যা আছে।[12] প্ৰব্ৰজনকাৰী বাঙালীৰ মধ্য প্ৰাচ্য, পাকিস্তান, ম্যানমাৰ, যুক্তৰাজ্য, যুক্তৰাষ্ট্ৰ, মালয়েছিয়া, ইটালী, চিংগাপুৰ, মালদ্বীপ, কানাডা, অষ্ট্ৰেলিয়া, জাপান আৰু দক্ষিণ কোৰিয়াতো সু-প্ৰতিষ্ঠিত গোষ্ঠী আছে।

ধৰ্ম[সম্পাদনা কৰক]

ধৰ্মৰ ক্ষেত্ৰত বাঙালী লোকৰ মাজত ভালেমান বৈচিত্ৰ্য দেখা যায়। প্ৰায় ৬৭% বাঙালী লোক ইছলাম ধৰ্মাৱলম্বী। আন বাঙালীৰ মাজত হিন্দু ধৰ্ম সৰ্ববৃহৎ ধৰ্ম। বাঙালী মুছলিমৰ সৰহসংখ্যক বাংলাদেশত থাকে। তাৰেই মাজত ছুন্নীসকলৰ সংখ্যাগড়িষ্ঠতা। বাঙালী হিন্দুৰ সৰহসংখ্যক ভাৰতৰ পশ্চিম বংগ, ত্ৰিপুৰা, অসমৰ বৰাক উপত্যকা আৰু আন্দামান আৰু নিকোবাৰ দ্বীপপুঞ্জত থাকে। বাঙালী হিন্দুসকলে মুখ্যতঃ শাক্ত ধৰ্ম আৰু বৈষ্ণৱ ধৰ্মৰ পালন কৰে, যদিও লগতে স্থানীয় দেৱতাৰো আৰাধনা কৰা হয়।[13][14][15] কম সংখ্যাত বাঙালী খ্ৰীষ্টানো পোৱা যায়, যাৰ গড়িষ্ঠসংখ্যকেই পৰ্টুগীজ ভ্ৰমণকাৰীৰ বংশধৰ। তদুপৰি বাঙালী বৌদ্ধ লোকো পোৱা যায়, যি সাধাৰণতে চিট্টাগং আৰু ৰাখাইনত বাস কৰা বাংলাভাষী বৰুৱা
